Production Description
5083 aluminum alloy is a high magnesium alloy with good strength,
corrosion resistance and machinability in non-heat-treatable Alloy.
After anodizing, the surface is beautiful. Arc Welding performance
is good. The main element of 5083 alloy is magnesium, which has
good corrosion resistance, weldability and medium strength.
Excellent corrosion resistance makes 5083 alloy widely used in
marine applications such as ships, as well as automobile, aircraft
welding parts, subway light rail, pressure vessels (such as liquid
tankers, refrigerated vehicles, refrigerated containers) ,
refrigeration units, television towers, drilling equipment,
transportation equipment, missile parts, armor, etc. .
The 5000 series of aluminium alloys represent 5052, 5005, 5083 and
5A05 series. The 5000 series aluminium bar belongs to the more
commonly used alloy aluminium plate series, the main element is
magnesium, the content of magnesium is between 3-5%. It can also be
called Al-Mg alloy. Its main characteristics are low density, high
tensile strength, high elongation and good fatigue strength, but it
can not be strengthened by heat treatment. In the same area, the
weight of Al-Mg alloy is lower than that of other series. It is
also widely used in conventional industry. In our country, 5000
series aluminium sheet belongs to one of the more mature aluminium
sheet series.
